Welcome! My name is Nathan D. Meyer and I am the founder of Alignment Financial Planning, LLC.

The first six years of my professional career were spent as a PGA of America Golf Professional. While I absolutely loved working with clients and helping them improve their golf game, I knew something was missing. After repeatedly hearing stats like “the #1 cause of divorce is money issues” and “8 out of 10 American families are living paycheck to paycheck”, I wanted to make a bigger impact in peoples lives than just focusing on golf. I wanted to help individuals and families with their money, which will ultimately touch every single other aspect of their life.

By not starting my career in finance, I have experienced the short comings of the financial industry first hand. I faced obstacles getting financial services as an average client, had a lack of financial education or resources available to me, and I’ve dealt with pushy sales-tactics, high fees, and confusing products.

With Alignment Financial Planning, LLC, I want to flip the script on what this industry should be. I want our services to be fully accessible to the average person, start every Financial Planning relationship with education, and follow that up with clear, straight forward advice … because I believe that with really good financial advice that aligns with your values, everyone has the chance to change their family tree.

Passions

  • A triathlon is a type of multisport race that involves swimming, biking, and running across long distances. Nathan started multi-sport training in 2022 from the encouragement of Maxwell. Nathan completed his first Half Ironman (70.3 miles!) in September, 2022 in 6:52:34. Why would you suck at one sport, when you can suck at three!

  • Nathan loves spending time with his wife and three kids!

  • Nathan and his family belong to a wonderful Bible Church in Brighton, MI - 242 Community Church. Nathan is the lead teacher in the 3yr old room and involved with multiple small groups.

  • Nathan is passionate about coffee and exploring the different growing regions, roasting styles, and brewing techniques. Each morning Nathan prepares his own espresso shot(s) at home and prefers them over-ice with a small splash of cream.
